Kendrick Lamar Drops Striking Visual for “ELEMENT.” [VIDEO]

More fire visuals have arrived from Kung Fu Kenny. Continuing the impressive streak set by “HUMBLE.” and “DNA.,” Kendrick Lamar returns with a striking music video for “ELEMENT.”

Co-directed by The Little Homies (aka Kendrick and Dave Free) and  Jonas Lindstroem, “ELEMENT” carries over the symbolic visual presentation of previous DAMN. offerings. The video starts off with a hand emerging from the abyss on sunny day. Things quickly get bleak however, when the imagery turns violent. Burning houses and Kendrick’s, blood-soaked victims and gun-wielding kids all paint a chaotic picture of a tragic environment.

Though shot in cinematic fashion, there’s little that’s pretty about K. Dot’s new video. Amidst the violence, Kendrick Lamar’s “ELEMENT.” does manage to splice in some civilized moments with images of love and religion. However, those softer notes seem to exist mainly to underscore the gore that dominates the visual.

Kendrick Lamar’s critically acclaimed new album, DAMN., is available now via TDE/Aftermath/Interscope.
