WHAT YEAR IS THIS? OCCUPATION IS A SLAVE
An online juror questionnaire offered by Georgia’s DeKalb county included slave as an occupation option.
Yes, you heard it correctly. Slave, as in a person who is legally forced to obey his or her owner’s every command.
((Reaches for history book)) Um…. slavery was abolished in 1865, right? Right!
The questionnaire, which launched a month ago, has since removed the word, according to Georgia’s 11Alive. It was deleted an hour of learning about it, said Court Administrator Cathy McCumber.
The company that designed the software said that the jobs listed in the drop down menus are inputted by the user, so they aren’t sure how long the word has been in the form.
Well, we’re glad they adjusted the system, but what do you think?
