Black Celebs Win Big at Tony Awards

Cicely Tyson, Billy Porter, Patina Miller and Courtney B. Vance were among the 67th Annual Tony Award winners. Tyson won Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play for The Trip to Bountiful, and this is her first Tony ever at age 79, while Courtney B. Vance also snagged Best Performance by a Featured Actor in Lucky Guy. Click HERE to read more.

Missing New Orleans Teacher Found Dead

The decomposed body of Terrilyn Monette, the 26-year-old teacher who went missing in March, was found in a bayou in New Orleans. The corpse was in the driver’s seat of Monette’s car and the coroner’s report stated the cause of death as drowning. Click HERE to read more.

Nelson Mandela Hospitalized Again

The former South African president was admitted to the hospital on Saturday due to a lingering lung infection. He is listed as being in serious but stable condition. Everyone needs to keep sending prayers up! Click HERE to read more.

Two Chainz Mugged in California

Rapper Two Chainz was robbed at gunpoint in San Francisco. The Atlanta native and his entourage of five were approached by three men who quickly fled the scene after taking the rapper’s wallet and cell phone. Click HERE to read more.

Four Years in Prison Recommended for Jesse Jackson Jr. 

Prosecutors in Jesse Jackson Jr.’s corruption case are recommending that he spend four years in prison and pay a restitution fee; they recommend 18 months for his wife. Both will be sentenced on July 3. Click HERE to read more.

Chad Ochocinco Given Jail Time for Butt Slap

After showing up to court regarding a probation violation in his domestic violence case with Evelyn Lozada, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson was sentenced to 30 days in jail. The judge, who initially accepted Johnson’s deal to extend his probation instead of serving time, changed her mind when Ochocinco slapped  his male lawyer’s butt, resulting in laughter from the courtroom.
