This Week in Racism…
A white Australian woman has been charged with assault, going armed in public as to cause fear, disorderly conduct and likely to racially harass after a disturbing video of her attacking her black neighbors surfaced online.
Tumaini Eliazery, a self-employed cleaner originally from the Congo, has been living in Australia for eight years. He, along with his family, was the target of the malicious attack spurred by his next door neighbor.
Earlier this week, Elizaery posted the video to his Facebook page with the following caption: “Someone asked me how was my weekend, this is what happens with my neighbour. Wait for part II you will be shocked…”
The footage shows the 51-year-old woman yelling over the fence to her neighbors after an altercation, which Australian media outlet 9 News Perth says occurred in response to the children making noises while playing.
“I don’t deal with monkeys; get away, monkeys. Look at these f***ing pigs, jungle bunnies you are,” the woman is heard yelling over the fence.
The second part of the video shows the woman wielding a metal bar. She says she was defending herself.
“I was in fear of my life at that time,” she said I believe they shouldn’t be here. I’m tired of feeling like a minority in my own country.”
