Walmart Stops Selling Black Lives Matter Shirts

Walmart will no longer sell “Bulletproof: Black Lives Matter” shirts in its stores after the president of the national Fraternal Order of Police asked the big box store to stop selling the merchandise.

The Washington Post reports the store announced that it will continue to sell the “Black Lives Matter” shirts.

Fraternal Order of Police President, Chuck Canterbury wrote to Walmart CEO C. Douglas McMillion Tuesday to advise him that the store’s website was selling “offensive shirts and sweatshirts.”

“I urge you to prohibit the use of the Walmart name and website for the retail sale of these products,” Canterbury wrote.

The store’s site and Old Glory’s site also sell “Blue Lives Matter” shirts.

In a statement issued Tuesday night, Walmart atrributed the shirts to third party vendors.

“Like other online retailers, we have a marketplace with millions of items offered by third parties that includes Blue Lives Matter, Black Lives Matter and All Lives Matter merchandise. After hearing concerns from customers, we are removing the specific item with the ‘bulletproof’ reference.”
