Video: Minn. Cop Threatens Black Teen
A Minneapolis police officer was recorded on camera threatening to break a teenager’s leg during a traffic stop last month. An internal investigation is underway, along with calls for the Department of Justice to look into the incident.
The boy was with a group of friends at the time. The young men told Fox 9 that they didn’t know what to do and feared for their lives. Plain and simple, if you f— with me, I’m going to break your leg before you get the chance to run. I’m being honest I don’t screw around,” the officer said on the video.

The young men said they made a U-turn into a church parking lot in south Minneapolis and headed towards 33rd and Pillsbury. That’s when they were pulled over by police. They say they were forced out of the vehicle and placed in handcuffs. “They had their guns drawn,” Liban Yusuf told Fox 9. “I don’t know why they were so aggressive.”
The boys don’t know why they were pulled over in the first place. For the next 45 minutes, the teens had their backgrounds checked and their vehicle searched. They were eventually let go. Officers said they were suspected of grand theft auto.
Officer Rob Webber made the threats. The MPD had no comment. The young men plan to file a complaint with police. “Now that we have the community and strong people behind us, we feel like we should step up even more,” Yusuf said.
