Williams Sisters Bow Out at Olympics

It’s always seemed like a foregone conclusion that Venus and Serena Williams would dominate at the Olympics in doubles tennis, and until Sunday, that was always true. But at the Rio Games, they fell short of advancing toward the gold medal in the opening round.

The sisters, who boast championships from the U.S. Open, Wimbledon, Australian Open and several prior Olympics were defeated by the Czech Republic’s Lucie Safarova and Barbora Strycova.
