V Foundation Announces Stuart Scott Cancer Research Fund

To honor the life of ESPN sportscaster Stuart Scott, The V Foundation for Cancer Research, along with family members representing Scott, have announced a new cancer research memorial fund.

The Stuart Scott Cancer Memorial Research Fund will assist some of the “most vulnerable and disproportionately” impacted communities battling cancer.

Scott, an extraordinary and admirable personality and advocate for cancer research succumbed to his cancer battle on Jan. 4.

With an initial donation of $100,000 from ESPN, The V Foundation has a dedicated page on their website for  donations.

ESPN President John Skipper expressed his sentiments in a press release, stating: “Stuart inspired others by how courageously he battled cancer. He and I talked about this horrible disease and opportunities he saw to expand the scope of research being done. He was taken away from us way too young, and given what he stood for and what he clearly meant to many, this fund is a fitting way to honor his legacy and significantly add to what he did so valiantly-fight cancer.”
