Two Arrested In Texas Teen’s Rape
Justice may be on the way for the 16-year-old Houston Texas native known only as Jada.
The teenage was the victim of an alleged sexual assault case that went viral over the summer.
Two arrests have been made in the case, according to an interview the teenager gave to MSNBC’s Ronan Farrow, along with Black Panther Party activist, Quanell X.
While attending a party with friends, Jada reported being drugged, raped and videotaped. The video and an image eventually caught social media attention which resulted in various taunts and being blamed for her own assault. The 16-year-old shared her story on the news and soon the Twitter campaign #IAmJada caught on in a supportive manner.
In the MSNBC interview, Jada admitted that continued support has still been a struggle when it comes to teenagers but she is gaining a comfort support system from adults and individuals outside of her community.
