Suge Knight Pleads Not Guilty, Trial Set For July

A judge determined that former Death Row Records co-founder Marion “Suge” Knight’s murder trial will start on July 7, unless a motion is made to continue it for a later date.

Knight pleaded not guilty to murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run charges filed after he struck two men with his SUV outside of a restaurant in Compton earlier this year.

The hearing was his first court appearance since Judge Ronald Coen ruled earlier this month that he would stand trial.

Matt Fletcher, who is representing Knight, requested that his bail be reduced from $10 million to $5 million, but Coen refused.

Knight is scheduled to go back to court on May 29.
