Happy Headline: Steph Curry Gives Back!

Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry received a brand new Kia Sorento SUV as part of being named the NBA’s MVP.

And guess what? He gave it away to an Oakland-based nonprofit dedicated to helping homeless youth. Covenant House told KTVU they are absolutely thrilled to received the gift, which couldn’t have come at a better time.

“The warriors have done a great job of reaching out to Covenant House all year long. This is kind of like the cherry on top of what basketball can bring to the community,” said Curry.

Covenant House offers shelter and other services to homeless youth between to ages of 18 and 24. The nonprofit uses vehicles to transport them to and from medical appointments, job interviews and other services.

Covenant House says the new SUV will also help transport food that is donated to their organization.

The nonprofit, which has a partnership with the Warriors, has been serving Oakland for 17 years.
