Stacey Dash Claps Back at Kanye Rape Rant
Actress and brand-new FOX News contributor Stacey Dash has been working for the channel for less than a week and she’s already firing shots. Her first victim? None other than hip-hop superstar Kanye West.
On Tuesday, Dash appeared on the news show “Outnumbered” to respond to West’s recent on-stage rant at the Wireless Festival in London, during which he compared being followed by paparazzi to being raped. Her response, as Gawker.com put it, “saw Kanye’s trivialization of sexual assault and raised him a trivialization of prison rape.”
Dash, a Bronx native, told fellow panelists that West should spend some time at New York’s notorious Rikers Island jail so that he can experience the horrors of rape for himself. “Maybe he needs to spend some time on Rikers Island, y’know, go to Rikers for a little while. Then he’ll know what rape is.”
She went on to say, “I don’t get celebrities not understanding that the paparazzi are doing their job … if you’re nice, if you’re polite to them, they leave you alone. It’s when you start calling them names and act crazy and putting your hands up and doing all this drama that they make it a big deal.”
Dash’s rape analogy seemingly went completely unnoticed by the panelists on “Outnumbered,” but her comments have since gone viral. Will Kanye respond? How will this affect her new job? Only time will tell.
