St. Paul Cop Tells Drivers to Hit BLM Protesters
One St. Paul cop has been placed on leave after allegedly urging drivers to hit Black Lives Matter protesters with their cars.
Sgt. Jeffrey M. Rothecker, who supposedly uses JM Roth on social media, reportedly took to Facebook to tell motorists how to deal with marchers during a Martin Luther King Jr. Day gathering.
He wrote, “Run them over. Keep traffic flowing and don’t slow down for any of these idiots who try and block the street.”
The policeman even went as far as to offer legal advice to those who heeded his suggestion.
“Here is the deal, you continue to drive and if you hit someone make sure you call 911 to report the accident,” he stated.
“Meet the cops a block or two away and you can justify stopping further away because you feared for your safety since the past people in this group has shown a propensity towards violence…most likely it will come out in your favor,” he continued.
News of the comment, which was reported by Andrew Henderson, reached Mayor Chris Coleman.
He said, he was “outraged and disgusted…There is no room in the St. Paul Police Department for employees who threaten members of the public.”
Investigators are currently looking into the incident.
