Sprint Calls T-Mobile ‘Ghetto’ in New Ad
It’s natural for companies to talk smack about their competitors, but some feel the latest Sprint ad has gone a bit too far.
The phone company used some pretty choice language when attempting to chop down fellow phone dealer T-Mobile that has many of us scratching our heads in confusion as to how this ad got approved.
The ad, which features a white woman describing T-Mobile as “ghetto,” shows Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure sitting beside her, nodding and laughing.
“The first word that came to my head is like ghetto,” she quips. “That sounds terrible, I know like…I just felt like there’s always like three carriers, AT&T, Sprint and Verizon.”
The ad pretty much features a group of white people sitting at a family style dinner table discussing phone carriers.
According to Fortune, Sprint has since pulled the ad.
