Chicago Bulls Get Candid about Gun Violence

It started with a conversation among Chicago Bulls team members. What soon developed, was revealed pain and reflections on the many friends and loved ones lost due to gun violence. What has become the goal, is a spreading message of support and advocacy for non-violence.

Produced by Bulls center, Joakim Noah with direction from award-winning author Alex Kotlowitz, “You’re Not Alone” is a mini anti-violence documentary featuring Derrick Rose, Taj Gibson and youth voices discussing personal loss.

The video feels raw and honest, with no underlining music to soothe the pain of stories shared.

Watch the heartfelt mini-doc below:

The message: “We’re all in this together,” comes as part of Joakim Noah’s foundation, Noah’s Arc, a mentorship program which also runs an anti-violence basketball tournament.

Noah’s Arc Foundation is also selling a pendant designed by Joakim’s mother with proceeds going toward the organization’s mission. His hope for the sculptured teardrop ” Drop of Consciousness” pendant is that it provides citywide hope and is seen as a symbol of non-violence.
