Ravens Cut Ray Rice After Video Emerges
Update 2:31 ET: The Baltimore Ravens have terminated Ray Rice’s contract, according to the Associated Press.
Baltimore Ravens Ray Rice is under fire…again.
TMZ has released video of the running back hitting his then-fiancée Janay Palmer in the elevator of an Atlantic City casino.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Rice for two games as a result of the incident, which took place back in February.
Rice has since described his actions as “totally inexcusable.” The running back and Palmer married shortly after the incident.
According to TMZ, the NFL saw the raw surveillance footage before issuing the two-game suspension, which many people did not believe was sufficient.
Goodell later admitted he “didn’t get it right” in reference to Rice’s punishment in a memo sent to all 32 team owners and announced “tougher penalties for players accused of domestic violence, including six weeks for a first offense and at least a year for a second.”
