UNC Wears Mix-Matched Sneakers For A Cause

Sneaker heads and basketball enthusiasts had their attention drawn to the footwear worn by UNC basketball players during a recent NCAA competition.

Pounding the court in mismatched Air Jordan’s, the UAB Blazers and UNC Tar Heels made a fashion statement with a prominent purpose-to show solidified support for 5-year-old Elijah Serrit, who is battling cancer. The UAB adopted Elijah three years ago.

Curated by UAB Blazers’ coach, Jarrod Hasse, a former player and assistant for UNC coach Roy Williams, the sneakers were to acknowledge and make aware of the many children suffering with pediatric cancer.

With acts of support like this, it’s good to know that humanity and caring for others can genuinely exist.
