Stuart Scott to be Honored at CLIO Awards

Stuart Scott, one of ESPN’s most renowned and charismatic sports anchors, will be posthumously honored at this year’s CLIO Awards.

Scott, who died in January after a seven-year battle with cancer, will receive the Sports Lifetime Achievement Award, which will henceforth be called the Stuart Scott Lifetime Achievement Award.

“For two decades, Stuart Scott was one of the most iconic sports personalities – from his famous catchphrases to his revolutionary style,” says CLIO’s president Nicole Purcell. “His lifetime of exceptional work defines CLIO Sports, and is an example for us all. We’re honored to celebrate Stuart’s life and career alongside his family this year.”

His family will accept the award on his behalf. The 2nd annual ceremony, hosted by NFL player Tiki Barber, will take place on July 8 at New York’s Cipriani Midtown.
