MVP Status: Stephen Curry Wins!
Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry has been a buzzing name this season.
With impeccable rhythmic performances on the court, the NBA point guard can now add the MVP title to his list of “wow” moments and accomplishments.
Beating out four-time MVP champ, Lebron James and notable competitor, James Harden for the top slot, Curry won the league’s top individual award, receiving 100 out of 130 first-place votes to round out a total of 1,198 points from a 129-member panel. Fans also got to vote via the NBA website.
Not only is the dude technically talented, but he manages to excite and entertain while leading his team to 67 wins. He also broke his own three-point shot record.
The announcement also marks a historical moment for the Warriors’ franchise, as Curry is the first MVP since 1960. Wilt Chamberlain was honored with the title following their victory in Philadelphia that year.
And speaking of Curry’s entertaining moments on the court, the crossover he served to Chris Paul (CP3) during a March match was just well… embarrassing and had social media going bananas!
