Now, the NBA is taking Austin’s “draft” to the next level.
According to TMZ Sports, Silver has promised Austin an NBA job position — as long as he finishes his degree at Baylor University. There are no specific details about the job available at this time, but Austin appears grateful nonetheless.
“I’m thankful for the opportunity that he’s giving me,” Austin said in the interview.
Just weeks before the draft, Austin was diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome, a genetic disorder that affects the body’s connective tissue. In efforts to raise awareness for the syndrome and encourage those facing adversity, Austin started the “Dream Again” initiative in early July.
