Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson appeared on ESPN’s First Take Wednesday and opened up about the domestic violence incident involving he and his ex wife Evelyn Lozada. Johnson was arrested in August for head-butting Lozada during an argument. The dispute lead to his subsequent release from the Miami Dolphins and the couple’s divorce in September.

During the interview Johnson owned up to having a history with domestic violence, and admitted that his marital infidelities had sparked the argument with Lozada. Johnson spoke candidly about the attack, referring to Lozada still as his wife. He says he will continue to fight for her, and is determined to rebuild their relationship.

As far as his NFL career is concerned, Johnson is hoping for a second chance to prove his worth as a player both on and off the field. Although many sports fans and critics believe that the wide receiver’s future in football is dim, Johnson claimed that he will get another opportunity to play professionally.
