Stoudemire to exec. produce doc

According to The New York Post, NBA star Amar’e Stoudemire will executive produce a new sports documentary titled Little Ballers. The doc will reportedly focus on four young basketball players as they go through the AAU youth league to pursue their dreams of going pro.

Producer Timbaland and rapper Lupe Fiasco will compose the music for the project, while NBA ballers Russell Westbrook and Patrick Ewing will appear. Author and producer Crystal McCrary is set to direct.

Stoudemire—forward for the New York Knicks—participated in the AAU basketball circuit himself as a teen and was drafted by the Phoenix Suns fresh out of high school.

The Post also reports that Stoudemire has set up his own production company, STATosphere. Little Ballers is set for a 2013 release.
