Netflix tapped some of entertainment industry’s most noted weed smokers for the new documentary Grass Is Greener. Directed and hosted by marijuana advocate Fab 5 Freddy, the film provides an in-depth look at America’s journey from a “war on drugs” toward legalized weed and recreational use.
Rapper Snoop Dogg, another noted weed enthusiast, signed on to address the narrative shaped around weed and the disproportionate effects anti-marijuana legislation had on minority communities.
Fab 5 Freddy celebrated his directorial debut on Twitter by sharing a clip from a smoke session with the emcee. “I directed his first music vid, “Whats My Name” & turned him & the #DogPound into dogs. I was proud to introduce him to the world on YO! MTV Raps,” he wrote. “Working w/him on my film was amazing! Oh yeah, the old timers use to tell me,”if you don’t cough, you don’t get off” @SnoopDogg.”
