SMH: Rapist Gets 30 Days; Frozen Boyfriend

JET finds some of the most ridiculous headlines and let’s you decide which is worse:

This “SMH” roundup isn’t humorous, but it’ll definitely have you shaking your head in disgust.

A high school teacher, 54, from Montana was convicted of raping a student, 14, but now, his 15-year sentence has been cut down to just 30 days. Stacey Dean Rambold faced charges back in 2008 for sexual intercourse without consent. He received three counts, one which he did plead guilty on. The case got a little more complicated when the teen committed suicide a few weeks before turning 17, in 2010.

The judge, said the student was in “as much in control of the situation” as the teacher, and then offered him a way to have the charges dismissed. [Insert “SMH”] All he had to do was enroll in a sex-offender treatment program. Easy enough, right? Well, prosecutors discovered Rambold had been dropped by the program.

Not sure what he did to get the boot, but this is probably a bad sign. The information led the prosecutors to revisit the case, but it didn’t faze the judge. Now the former teacher has one credit for a day already served.

Moving on.

What’s that saying? “Hell have no fury like a woman scorned?” Well, one Minnesota woman allegedly  took that to heart.

Jetaun Wheeler, 29, learned her boyfriend, 58, was trying to leave her and she wasn’t having it. She reportedly beat him to death, wrapped him in plastic and duct tape and then hid the body in a freezer.

She was charged with second-degree murder on Monday, according to the Associated Press.

The victim has not been named as of yet.

Time to decide. Which is worse?
