Man Sentenced For Deadly Silicone Injections

A 44-year-old man was arrested and sentenced to 14 years in prison for illegally giving a woman silicone butt injections days prior to her death.

Vinnie Lysander Taylor of Wilmington, North Carolina, frequently traveled around the country injecting woman with silicone, telling them that they would develop a larger buttocks. According to prosecutors, one of his clients died days after undergoing the procedure at a Capitol Heights hotel.

Apparently Taylor cultivated a scheme where he would use a made up clothing store name — Suga K’s — to order liquid silicone from a Pennsylvania company. However, it was food-grade silicone meant for bottling and canning, not medial silicone. Prosecutors say between 2014 and 2018, Taylor received about 180 gallons from the company.

Authorities say Taylor facilitated injections to women in over 3,000 sessions over a period of roughly seven years. Taylor is not a doctor, nor does he have a medical license.

He charged clients anywhere from $800 to $1,000 for initial visits and $350 to $800 for repeat sessions.

In the case of the Maryland woman, medical examiners found her cause of death to be acute and chronic respiratory failure due to a foreign substance.

A May plea agreement states that following the silicone injection, “Taylor used glue and cotton balls to prevent the silicone from leaking and wrapped her buttocks in plastic wrap.”
