Shots Fired Into Memphis Church
On the heels of the fatal shooting in Charleston, S.C., comes an attempted attack in Memphis’ Orange Mound community.
As church members were wrapping choir rehearsal, Wednesday night, Deacon James Smith noticed a bullet hole in the back door of the Matthew Missionary Baptist Church.
Fortunately, in this case, no one was hurt. In fact, due to the loudness of the music, the shots went unheard.
However, residents expressed a recent plague in gang activit,y but assure that although the recent Charleston massacre has the world on edge, they will not allow evil to disrupt their belief and community.
“You don’t want people to be in a place of worship and are worshipping in fear,” one churchgoer told WRCB TV.
