Dozens of University of South Carolina students walked out of classes Monday morning in response to a variety of issues involving race and gender equality on campus.

The group, USC 20/20 Vision, marched with signs, some linked arm in arm and dressed in all black, from the Longstreet Theater to the school’s administration building. There, several members of the school’s leadership staff listened to their concerns.

USC 20/20 Vision created a list of 12 demands in sum, including a greater acknowledgement of the university’s actions during slavery. It also wanted to see increased efforts in minority student representation on campus, and additional diversity training for staff.
