Republican Candidate’s Face Painted White
Glo Smith, who is hoping to become the Republican candidate for Florida’s Fifth Congressional District election in November, had one of her campaign signs destroyed.
Instead of the usual words drawn in marker, Smith’s poster was vandalized by her face being painted white. The offender chose to avoid her eyes and mouth, making it clear to give the candidate a whiteface look.
The Black Florida Republican posted the campaign poster on Twitter along with “This is sad, but I’m all for diversity.”
“We expect signs to be tampered with or stolen,” Smith told the National Review, “but not to this extent.”
