Reports Differ on Bobbi Kristina’s Condition

On Saturday, Singer Bobby Brown told concert goers that his 21-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina was awake after being in a coma for three months.

Now, her grandmother Cissy Houston, has spoken in contradiction to Brown’s optimistic comments. According to TMZ, she called Bobbi Kristina’s condition “irreversible.”

“Meeting with the doctors and understanding that she can live in this condition for a lifetime truly saddens me,” she told TMZ. “I have just returned from visiting my granddaughter Bobbi Kristina in the hospital and while she is no longer in a medically-induced coma she has a tracheotomy and according to the doctors she has global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive.”

Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in her home on Jan. 31, a little less than two weeks before the anniversary of her mother, Whitney Houston’s death. The 22-year-old star has been fighting for her life ever since.

Brown and his lawyer released a statement clarifying what he meant to say on Monday:

“Bobbi Kristina’s condition has changed since moving from Emory University Hospital and there has been improvement. Doctors have indicated that she will have a long life,” said Christopher Brown, legal counsel for Bobby Brown. “However, Bobbi Kristina is presently embarking on a rehabilitation process and the quality of her life will not be known for years to come.”

At this point, we’re not sure what to believe. Wishing Bobbi Kristina a speedy recovery.
