Official Fired After Racist Michelle Obama Post

[UPDATE December 28, 2016] According to reports from Huffington Post, the West Virginia official who called first lady Michelle Obama an “ape in heels” in a widely shared Facebook post has been permanently removed from her position. Initially, the CCDC put the official, Pamela Ramsey Taylor on a six-week leave scheduled to end last Friday.

A West Virginia official has been removed from her position after posting a controversial Facebook status about First Lady Michelle Obama, WSAZ reports.

Pamela Ramsey Taylor served as the director of the Clay County Development Corporation, but was let go after referring to Michelle Obama as an “ape in heels.”

According to the news outlet, Taylor wrote, “It will be refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady in the White House.” She also said she was “tired of seeing an ape in heels.”

Clay County Sheriff Garrett Samples says threats have been made against Taylor, as well as another woman who commented on her status approving her message. That woman was Clay Mayor Beverly Whaling who wrote, “Just made my day Pam.”

Taylor, who was also on Clay County’s pageant festival committee, told WSAZ that she does not hold any leadership positions in pageantry.
