Protests Grow In Response to Freddie Gray Death

The emotions are raw and the movement is growing strong in the city where Freddie Gray died while in police custody due to a broken spine earlier this week.

Protesters in Baltimore are demanding answers as to how Gray’s spine got severed while in police custody.

Gray died on Sunday as a result of an April 12 altercation with Baltimore police that still remains unclear.

The demonstrations don’t seem to be dying down anytime soon. Activists gathered Tuesday evening, and are expected to return late Wednesday afternoon. This time, they’ll house their demonstration in front of the Western District police station where Gray was taken after his arrest.

A rally in front of City Hall is scheduled for Thursday.

The U.S. Department of Justice launched a civil rights investigation into the department on Tuesday.
