President Obama Officially Endorses Clinton

Just hours after President Obama met with Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders at the White House, congratulating him on a hard-fought race, the president officially threw his support behind his former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.

In a video released by the Clinton campaign, the president praised both Clinton and Sanders, calling their fight for the nomination “good for the party.”

During the clip, President Obama described Clinton as extremely qualified for the office.

“I don’t think there’s ever been someone so qualified to hold this office,” he said.

“I have seen her judgement. I have see her toughness,” the president added. “So I want those of you who have been with me since the beginning of the incredible journey to be the first to know that I’m with her.”

For weeks, political pundits have speculated about the president’s eagerness to get back on the campaign trail to ensure his legacy remains intact. Indeed, in his endorsement for Clinton, President Obama said he’s “fired up” to help Clinton win the presidency.
