Trayvon Martin’s Mom Urges Repeal

In a news conference Monday, Sybrina Fulton, the mother of slain 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, urged for the repeal of the “Stand Your Ground” law. Fulton believes the law allowed George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer, to get away with the murder of her son last year.

No Ordinary Lunch

President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met for lunch at the White House on Monday and sparked conversation about the 2016 presidential race. But the purpose of the lunch was “chiefly social,” says White House spokesman Josh Earnest. As for the meal itself, the White House chef served salad, grilled chicken and pasta jambalaya on a patio outside the Oval Office, according to AP.

Tim Allen On The N-Word

Ask most Black folks how they feel about other ethnicities using the N-word and you’ll probably get a good consensus of “heck no,” but apparently Tim Allen, who many know from the ’90s show “Home Improvement,” feels differently. In an interview with the Tampa Bay Times, the actor said that “the n-word is worse than n****.” His bold comment was made the same day of Paula Deen’s deposition and with the media chasing after that craziness, Allen was left in the shadows. Well now his opinion is exposed. Let’s see how people react to this.

Keyshia Cole’s Hubby Arrested

The singer’s husband and NBA player Daniel “Boobie” Gibson was arrested Monday and charged with assault and battery. The Cavs player was allegedly involved in an altercation at the Essence Music Festival earlier this month.

Rappers Unite for Tour

J. Cole and Wale tour? Yes please! Cole announced via Twitter that he and his rapping buddy are going on tour together this fall. Titled “What Dreams May Come,” the series of concerts starts in September and will run through November.

Keith Clinkscales has signed on to join the artist formerly known as Puff Daddy’s new channel.  The former Vibe magazine President and CEO will serve as the Chief Executive Officer on the network that hits small screens in October.

Nelly Brings Kidnapping Victim On Stage

Since being rescued, the three Cleveland women who were kidnapped almost a decade ago, have been on the quiet side. Well 27-year-old Amanda Berry finally made an appearance at the RoverFest concert on Saturday, where Nelly was performing. Radio talk show host Shane French of Rover’s Morning Glory in Cleveland did an impromptu invite for the survivor weeks before the concert, but had no clue she was listening. Looks like she was because she showed up with family and came on stage to wave at the crowd after Nelly invited her up.
