PA Mom Arrested for Licensed Gun Enters Program
There’s hope after all for Shaneen Allen, the Philadelphia mom who was arrested for carrying her licensed gun into another state.
On Thursday, a New Jersey judge allowed Allen to enter a pretrial intervention program, according to NBC Philadelphia.
A similar program was also offered to former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice to avoid jail time after punching his then-fiancée in an Atlantic City casino elevator.
Allen, who was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of hallow-point bullets after a traffic stop in New Jersey, spent 46 days in jail and faced up to 10 years behind bars.
If Allen completes the pretrial intervention program, her charges will be dropped.
