Obamacare Site Goes Dark for Updates
If you were planning on browsing the Obamacare website late at night, think again.
Health insurance shoppers will not be allowed to apply for coverage between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. ET, according to a banner on healthcare.gov. The banner states it’s to make improvements to the Health Insurance Marketplace; however, the rest of the site as well as the call center will be available during these times.
Experts have been brought in to address the problems with the website, which launched October 1. According to CNN, entrepreneur and former administration official Jeffrey Zients promises the site will be functioning properly by the end of November.
Open enrollment continues until March 31, 2014, but ends on December 15, 2013 for those wanting coverage starting at the beginning of the new year.
