“Spare the rod…”
A state appeals court in New York ruled on Wednesday that spanking your child on the behind is a reasonable use of force.
The verdict was for the case of a father who spanked his 8-year-old son at a party in 2012 for cursing at an adult, the Daily News reports.
Last March, a judge determined last year that the father had abused his son “by inflicting excessive corporal punishment,” for open-handedly spanking his child.
However, a four-judge panel ruled in a unanimous decision that the father’s spanking of the child was a reasonable force of discipline.
