Mother of Sam DuBose Speaks Out

The mother of Samuel DuBose, a 43-year-old unarmed Black man fatally wounded by a Cincinnati police officer during a traffic stop, spoke out about the incident on Wednesday.

Officer Ray Tensing was indicted for murder Wednesday after body cam video showed a struggle between him and DuBose after he pulled the man over.

Audrey DuBose spoke about God and her faith as she struggled to hold back tears. She expressed a deep relief that justice is being sought for her son.

When asked about the indictment, DuBose said, “I thought it was gonna be covered up… but like I said, I trust God, and I knew it was gonna be all right.”

Our condolences go out to Ms. DuBose and loved ones at this time.
