Morgan Freeman’s Granddaughter Killed

Morgan Freeman’s granddaughter was found stabbed to death on Sunday.

33-year-old Edena Hines was found lying on a Manhattan street with multiple stab wounds to the chest, the Guardian reports.

Police responded to a 911 call around 3 a.m. Hines was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital.

Lamar Davenport, 30, was taken into custody at the scene in front of Hines’ apartment on West 162nd Street. He has been charged with second-degree murder. Police said Davenport was in a relationship with Hines.

Morgan Freeman issued the following statement about the incident.

“The world will never know her artistry and talent, and how much she had to offer.”

Hines, who studied acting and was involved with teaching urban youth, was the granddaughter of Freeman’s first wife.

Our condolences go out to the Freeman family at this time.
