Update: The fundraising campaign has raised more than $32,000 as of Friday evening.

An Arizona mom is facing child abuse charges after she reportedly left her children in an unattended car during a job interview last week.

Shanesha Taylor, 35, says she didn’t have anyone available to take care of her 2-year-old and 6-month-old sons while she completed a 45-minute interview.

According to a police report, “the engine was turned off, the doors were closed and each of the four windows was opened only slightly.”

A bystander heard a child crying from inside the car and called police. Child Protective Services have taken custody of Taylor’s children, but a Scottsdale woman has started an online fundraiser to help Taylor, whom she refers to as a victim of the economy.
