Disrespecting MLK Statue? Naw, Fam

So uh…let’s get this straight.  Some students, allegedly at the University of South Florida, thought it was a good idea to plop a Donald Trump “make America great” hat on a statue of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

It is so embarrassing that the Daily Mail discovered this act of utter (for lack of a better term) dumbness perpetrated on an MLK statue.  Not a good look for #TeamUSA.

First off, this Trump slogan has frequently been invoked to hearken back to times when bigotry, sexism and other foolery were considered commonplace.

Secondly, the poster of this madness also felt it necessary to put a banner across the statue reading: “MLK Knows: Trump 2016.”

Welp. Clearly the poster doesn’t know King’s history.  Maybe instead of running around here putting awful caps on memorials to iconic leaders, he or she might want to crack open a book… or ten.

In the meantime, commenters are roasting these goofballs like ratchet marshmallows over a blazing fire.  Well deserved.
