Missouri Man Arrested for Plotting Theater Shooting

Following the devastation of the Dark Knight Rises theater shooting in Aurora this past July, a Missouri man, Blaec Lammers, was arrested on Friday, Nov. 16, for admitting to have planned a similar plot at a local movie theater showing of  The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. Luckily the 20-year-old’s mother, who was concerned about her son’s intentions to use his recently purchased weapons, contacted the Bolivar Police Department in Bolivar, Missouri on Thursday.

According to the police department’s report, Lammers was aproached outside of a Sonic in Bolivar. He then agreed to come to the police station to be interviewed. During the interview, Lammers said he had bought tickets to Breaking Dawn – Part 2 and had purchased two assault rifles with the intent to shoot people at the theater.

“Blaec Lammers stated that he had a lot in common with the people that have been involved in those shootings,” read the released statement. “[He] stated that he was quiet, kind of a loner, had recently purchased firearms and didn’t tell anybody about it, and had homicidal thoughts.”

He also admitted to having thoughts about shooting people at a local Walmart because he would easily be able to get more ammunition there if he were to run out.

Lammers is reported to have never shot a gun before and is believed to be currently off of his medication. It is also safe to assume that he working alone, Darin Chappell, Bolivar city administrator told the Springfield- News Leader on Friday. Lammers is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.
