Melissa Harris-Perry Heads Over to Elle.com
Melissa Harris-Perry made circulating headlines when she walked off her self-titled MSNBC show in February.
Now, the former host has accepted a position at ELLE Magazine as an Editor-at-Large for the publication’s digital platforms.
In her new position, Harris-Perry will use her voice and to discuss topics of race, gender, politics and even fun doses of fashion.
“I am thrilled to tell my loyal television audience where they can find me and to introduce myself to brand new audiences, all while telling the stories of extraordinary women and girls,” she stated on ELLE.com. “Politics, economics and inequality will be important to the stories we tell, but so too will culture, community, family and even fashion.”
CNN reports that Harris-Perry will not work full-time with Elle, but will write and appear on-camera on a regular basis.
“Sole Searching”, one of the upcoming series, already sounds intriguing. Harris-Perry, who will interview newsmakers, women and girls of color, and celebrities, described it as being “Smart People Talking While Shoe Shopping.”
Harris-Perry will begin the new gig later this week.
