Laquan McDonald: 2 Officers Put on Desk Duty

Two Chicago police officers involved in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald have been placed on desk duty, WGN reports.

In December, the city’s inspector general recommended that Officer Joseph Walsh be reassigned and that Detective David March be pulled off of all current investigations.

Walsh’s partner, Jason Van Dyke, shot the teen 16 times. He is facing trial for McDonald’s murder.

Mass protests ensued following the Nov. 24 release of dash cam video footage showing the details of the shooting.

Some of Walsh’s accounts of the incident contradict with what appears on the footage.
