NBA star Derrick Williams was robbed of $750,000 in jewelry at his Tribeca apartment early Saturday.
Williams said two women he took home from a club earlier in the evening are responsible for the robbery. According to the Knicks forward, the two women pillaged a Louis Vuitton jewelry case holding some of his very expensive possessions.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” Williams told the NY Post. “It’s still up in the air.”
Williams, who had been celebrating the Knicks’ win against the Philadelphia 76ers with a group of friends at the Up & Down club, said they, along with two women, headed back to his apartment for an after party.
Everyone left and his possessions were gone. He says the case with three-quarters of a million dollars of his jewelry was in his closet. Sources say the women grabbed the jewelry and took off.
Police are investigating whether the theft is part of a pattern of robberies committed by young women who prey on wealthy men at clubs and bars.
