Kelly Osbourne: ‘I’m Not A Racist’
Former Fashion Police host Kelly Osbourne is responding to critics after making a controversial comment
about Latinos on The View Tuesday.
In a very flawed attempt to defend Latinos against Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s racially-charged comments, Osbourne ended up seriously offending many.
“If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?” Osbourne asked.
Co-host Rosie Perez quickly checked Osbourne on her comments saying, “There’s more jobs than that in the country for Latinos, and Latinos are not the only people who clean toilets.”
Unfortunately, Perez later issued an apology to Osbourne. The reason for the move remains unclear.
After receiving a wave of backlash for her remarks on Twitter, Osbourne released the following statement:
“I want to start by saying I ALWAYS take responsibility for my actions,” she wrote on her Facebook page. “In this particular case, I will take responsibility for my poor choice of words, but I will not apologize for being a racist as I am NOT. I whole-heartedly f****d up today. I don’t want to bull**** anyone with lame excuses. Although I was stopped mid-sentence by Rosie and couldn’t finish my point I will not let Rosie take responsibility for my words. I should’ve know better as I was on The View and it was live. I’ve learned a very valuable lesson.”
Ironically, Osbourne left her post as host on Fashion Police after co-star Giuliana Rancic made some racist comments about Zendaya Coleman’s locs at this year’s Oscar ceremony.
Isn’t this the pot calling the kettle black?
