At the top of the year, JET released a special investigative report into the tragic death of Jordan Davis, a teen who was shot and killed last November in Jacksonville, Fl. The suspect was Michael Dunn, who fired several shots at Jordan and his friends at a local gas station following an argument over the boys’ music. Dunn now awaits a murder trial in September.
Had he lived, Jordan would have graduated today along with his classmates from Wolfson High School. According to the family’s lawyer, John Phillips, Jordan’s parents—Ron Davis and Lucia McBath—will accept their son’s honorary diploma during the school’s senior class ceremony later today.
For a brief update on Jordan’s case be sure to pick up the July 1 issue, featuring The Soul Man (TV Land) star Nicey Nash on the cover when it drops next Monday. Until then go to walkwithjordan.org for more details.
