John Henson’s latest trip to a jewelry store put a bad a taste in his mouth, because the NBA star claims he was racially profiled during his visit.
On Monday, the Milwaukee Bucks player went to Schwanke-Kasten Jewelers in White-Fish Bay, WI. As he walked to the door, the employees locked it and attempted to send him away.
After ringing the doorbell to no avail, two cops approached the 24-year-old, questioning his intentions and even the origin of his car, which was from his sponsorship with Chevrolet.
Once the police assured the staff that it was “safe” to come out and reopen the shop, business proceeded as usual.
Henson took to Instagram to document his experience. He took a photo of the establishment and wrote about the incident in the caption.
He described it as “one of the most degrading and racially prejudice things I’ve ever experienced in life.”
