Interview: Janay Rice Defends Ray Rice Again

Yesterday we posted a clip of what appeared to be a very remorseful Ray Rice.

The former Baltimore Ravens running back expressed spoke out for the first time in months about his domestic violence dispute with then-fiancee Janay Palmer.

“I can understand some people probably never will forgive my actions,” Rice said during an exclusive interview with ESPN’s Outside the Lines.

His wife, Janay Rice, appeared in the interview, and said she gets angry when people peg her husband as a woman beater.

“I get angry about it because it’s the furthest things from the truth,” she stated. “I’m not taking the light off of anything that he did. He’s human, and he has done everything he’s supposed to do to redeem himself. So it kind of makes me quite mad.”

Ray Rice hasn’t been signed to a team since being let go from the Ravens after video footage of him dragging Janay out of an elevate went viral. He wants a second chance.

“I think that every step that I took going forward right now—over time, I want to be able to rewrite the script, to tell my daughter that Daddy made the worst decision of his life, but this is what I did going forward.”
