ICYMI: Brittney Griner Confirms Annulment
WNBA star Brittney Griner confirmed that she did file for an annulment of her marriage to fellow WNBA player Glory Johnson on Friday, according to ESPN.
“Last Wednesday, Glory and I agreed to either legally separate, get divorced, or annul our marriage,” Griner said in a statement Friday. “I can confirm that today I filed for an annulment. In the week prior to the wedding, I attempted to postpone the wedding several times until I completed counseling, but I still went through with it. I now realize that was a mistake.”
The news came just one day after Johnson announced that she was expecting a child. The two, who got married a month ago today at a Phoenix resort, were arrested on April 22 after a fight became violent in the home they purchased two days earlier.
Both stars were suspended from the league for seven games for their actions.
Johnson, who plays for the Tulsa Shock, will miss the upcoming season due to her pregnancy.
