NC Man Kills Son, Confesses Via Facebook Live

Police in North Carolina are searching for a man who killed his 15-year-old son and critically wounded his ex-wife, the New York Daily News reports.

Using Facebook’s Live feature, Earl Valentine took to social media to broadcast his horrid confession.

“What’s up everybody? I just killed my (expletive) wife,” Valentine said in his video early Tuesday. “I loved my wife, but she deserved what she had coming.”

Valentine called police after the attack inside his former wife’s Norlina home. He told them he was on his way to Richmond, Va., to kill more family members.

“When we spoke to him on the phone he told us he is basically armed and dangerous,” Norlina Police Chief Taylor Bartholomew said.

The rest of Valentine’s family is being protected by police. So far, officials have been unsuccessful in locating Valentine, who shot both his ex-wife and son at point-blank range. Whether he meant to harm the boy is unclear. The teen may have gotten in the crossfire as he tried to protect his mom, officials say.

“It appeared the boy tried to intervene on his mother’s behalf and was also hit in the chest,” Bartholomew said.

As Valentine fled the scene, his dying son called 911. He told emergency dispatchers that his dad shot him and his mother, officials say.

In the video Valentine, who mistakenly believed his ex was dead, expressed no remorse for the slaying.

“She lied on me, had warrants taken out on me. She drug me all the way down to nothing,” he said in the Facebook video, which has since been removed from the social media site. “I don’t feel no remorse for what I did.”

Valentine is facing first-degree murder charges. Norlina is about 15 miles south of the Virginia state line and approximately 60 miles northeast of Raleigh.
